About
I am reminded that the separation between ideas and reality is simply “passion”. Reminiscing the starting days of September 2000, when I was intrigued by the few magical lines of html-tags that seem to jump out of the screen when I pressed the Refresh button. The scrolling banner texts was my breach into the digital compass. A decade has gone by and after four website development programs, the magic is still kicking. I can say with 100% affirmation that passion has been the driving force. By our inclinations or address the issues by means of alternative approaches, if we never understand the “why”, then we have failed again. For me, the “why” was timing. The time was not “right”. Too many paths criss-crossed, and I was left wondering the three “IFs”. Since then, I have graduated from Purdue, moved to Chicago, started a career, and got married to a wonderful woman. I was never in one place for too long, constantly changing phases. Let me borrow Heisenberg uncertainty principle as a reference point. I am now able to map out the future and this time around, this endeavor seems to fit just “right”. Many events are occurring or have occurred. Time is still as stubborn as the decade past. I want to start something “different”, a new way of writing. My intent is to focus on capturing bits and pieces of things, people, occurrences, and ideas that are important to me. The site will focus heavily on Origami, Paintings, Poetry, Case Studies, Photography, and Daily News. I have chosen a phrase, rather than a singular name to represent the “feel” of my site. …a funny thing happened is descriptively revealing about me.
I speculate…
that sometimes in the near future, the way we get from A to B would have been revolutionized, where energy is the result of atomic fusion combustion, and a genuine goodwill to understand the wonderfully simple question of “Why?” I feel the excitement around me. The leaps and bonds of technological innovation that my generation is currently experiencing. However, something seems to be missing. I feel as though, there is a “gap” in learning. A Block that prevents the dots between A to B to be connected in an efficient manner. We are relying too heavily on the law of Physics, of kinetic energy, of action and reaction. Perhaps, what if the next state of understanding and achievement pushes the boundary of physical laws, and perhaps…the next state requires the nullification of the very Laws that govern our thoughts and innovation of today. Will the achievements of tomorrow be dependent on the learning of the past? This is a half truth. As an Economist, my views on the world are deeply rooted by the number of flashlights within my toolbox, and I find myself asking, “Is there not a more efficient way?” This is my competitive advantage. I believe that the world of tomorrow will not rely on the mechanical laws of motion, but rather of lawless dimension.
